Yesterday, my colleagues from the Standing Committee on Official Languages and I arrived safely in Whitehorse, Yukon.
As part of a Western Canada tour with the goal of studying more extensively the 2018-2023 Action Plan for Official Languages: Investing in Our Future; we made a stop in Whitehorse for the first day of our committee business.
We visited several Francophone institutions, including the Center de la Francophonie, the Garderie du petit cheval blanc, the Émilie-Tremblay school, the Parhélie Academy and also, the French immersion program. The Committee also organized a round table with organizations from the city’s Francophone community.
It was a day filled with great meetings that allowed us to have very enriching and frank discussions with the Francophone community of Whitehorse!
